Did you know that working in tech doesn’t necessarily mean working for a tech company? Your skills might also be a great fit for an NGO, international organization, or another sector you haven’t considered yet.
Join us for the second session of Let’s Talk Work! as we look beyond the usual career paths and learn how to explore opportunities across different industries. Together, we’ll unpack job descriptions and labor market information, learn how to research companies and organizations, and discover niche roles you might not have considered.
Let’s Talk Work! is a spin-off of our Work in Progress career development program where English practice meets practical career skills. This time, combine English practice with practical topics such as American work culture, reading job descriptions and open positions to strengthen your application, and exploring career paths beyond buzzy professions. Practice writing emails, using small-talk business phrases, and making phone calls, and create an action plan to align work with your values and goals.
This program is led by our amazing Patrice Stankavich. With 25+ years of global professional experience in human resources, international peace & security, higher education, and executive leadership, Patrice has guided countless professionals through career transitions and led private corporations ranging from 300 to 1,200 employees. She then expanded her professional experience working with multilateral organizations and INGOs as large as 13,000 employees.
