American English Club: Women Do STEM Too

Want to improve your spoken English skills, but don't have anyone to practice with? Join our weekly American English Club, led by American volunteers, to engage in lively discussions and connect with new people and other English language fans online. Take the leap and jump into fun conversations led by facilitators from diverse backgrounds! We’ll be chatting about international holidays, innovation & technology, American art and pop-culture, and much more.

Join us on February 8th, as part of International Day of Women and Girls in Science, to discuss the following topics with Rachael Grainger:

💡 Inspiring education: the experiences of the United States and Ukraine.
💡 Tech startups and whether or not they are open to everyone.
💡 Female scientists who made a difference in the world.
💡 The current gender gap and how to address it.

The deadline to register is February 8 by 12:00 PM.

Rachael was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kobelyaky, Poltavska Oblast from 2018 to 2020. She taught English at a local school, lead summer camps in Ukraine, and participated as a coach in the Technovation Challenge. She is currently in graduate school, earning a Master’s in Public Policy at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is originally from San Diego, California.
