Poetry in the Garden With Charlie: Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

  • America House Kyiv 6 Mykoly Pymonenka Street Kyiv, 02000 Ukraine (map)

America House Kyiv and ELR Charlie are so excited to welcome you back for our 2nd season of Poetry in the Garden. Join us in AHK’s peaceful Urban Garden to enjoy English-language poetry as the sun sets. Each session will explore themes like love, travel, and loss through poetry.

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow was one of the most widely known and best-loved American poets of the 19th centruy. Chiefly, he's known for his use of American legend, mythology, and history. On September 18th, we'll be discussing one of his lesser-known works, "The Fire of Drift-Wood." Set in Longfellow's native New England, it explores human relationships, the passage of time, and the enduring power of memory.

Attendance and participation are free. You just need to let us know if you’re coming by registering for the event in advance. We’ll save you a spot and keep you posted about any changes.
