What does it mean to be American? In the third part of our American Identity series, we will be exploring Manifest Destiny and its effect on American identity. It was one of the defining ideas of the 19th century in American political life, but what impacts did the ideology actually have? Who built the connections between the Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific and who suffered as a consequence? Join us at 19:00 on March 28th as we attempt to uncover the answer.
The American Identity series is dedicated to enhancing understanding of American history and identity, spanning from pre-colonial times to the contemporary era. Using American passport images as a catalyst for discussions, the series is crafted to unveil nuanced perspectives within American history and culture.
