Writing Workshop: Parallel Structure

Having a better command of the written word makes you a more effective communicator; It enables you to get your ideas across with clarity and grace. But writing well is an ongoing challenge that requires consistent personal effort, as well as support and feedback from others. To that end, this workshop offers you the chance to push yourself to become a better writer, and in return, it gives us the gift of collaboration. Let’s make it happen, together, writing well now and forever.

Session 9

Writers use parallel structure to emphasize, contrast, and connect ideas. Because parallelism enhances the clarity, force, and grace of writing, it is used in everything from political speeches, literary passages, and resume task-descriptions. And this week we’ll be using it—and using it well!—in Shining Scribes, volume 9, our first session of the new year. Join us if you have a moment to nurture your craft.

Remember to bring your passport or driver's license.
