Oleksii Sai’s solo exhibition “Temporary” represented excel artworks from the “New Landscape” series. There were images of construction activities made over the past 10 years.

Cities change their appearance, but this process is imperceptible. Urban development is a constant, yet buildings under construction are temporary and not recognized in their volatility.

Oleksii’s project payed special  attention to things that surround people every day. Civil engineering constructive works are an embodiment of evanescence. The artist made images of constructed buildings in order to catch the moment and see them always in their distinct state under construction. He believes that contemplating the wholeness of an object is extremely important and the sensory experience of its genuineness should be evaluated without judgement. Instead, there should be awareness of “here and now” without interpreting past or future.

Oleksii Sai was born in Kyiv in 1975. He graduated from Kyiv Art Industrial College and the National Academy of Visual Arts and Architecture. He lives and works in Kyiv.
