We invite you to join our virtual fireside chat with Kevin Kregel, a former astronaut who has logged 52 days, 17 hours, 20 minutes, and 5 seconds in space. It is worth mentioning that Kevin is a great friend of Ukraine and was also on the STS-87 Columbia Mission together with Leonid Kadenyuk, the first astronaut of independent Ukraine who flew on a U.S. space shuttle.

More about Kevin:
Kevin Richard Kregel is a former American astronaut, and former member of the Space Launch Initiative Project at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Astronautical Engineering from the United States Air Force Academy and a Master of Science Degree in Public Administration from Troy University. From April 1990 Kevin has worked with NASA as an aerospace engineer and instructor pilot. A veteran of four space flights, Kregel has logged 52 days, 17 hours, 20 minutes, and 5 seconds in space. He was the pilot on STS-70 and STS-78, and was the spacecraft commander on STS-87 (where he served together with the Ukrainian astronaut Leonid Kadenyuk) and STS-99. Kregel was assigned to the Space Launch Initiative Project, Engineering Directorate, Johnson Space Center, until 2003, when he decided to retire from NASA. He is currently employed as a pilot for Southwest Airlines.

Він отримав ступінь бакалавра у сфері космонавтики в Академії ВПС США та ступінь магістра наук з державного управління в Університеті Трої. З квітня 1990-го року Кевін працював в NASA аерокосмічним інженером та пілотом-інструктором. Ветеран чотирьох космічних польотів, Кевін провів у космосі 52 дні, 17 годин, 20 хвилин і 5 секунд. Він був пілотом на STS-70 та STS-78, був командиром космічного корабля на STS-87 (де він працював разом з українським космонавтом Леонідом Каденюком) та STS-99. Наразі Кевін Крегел працює пілотом в американській авіакомпанії Southwest Airlines.
