“Planes, Trains, and Automobiles” (1987)
All Neal Page wants is to get home to his family in time for Thanksgiving. But when a sudden snowstorm derails his travel plans, the uptight marketing executive finds himself reluctantly paired with Del Griffith, a talkative shower curtain ring salesman with a heart of gold and a knack for chaos. What begins as a simple flight home spirals into a hilariously disastrous odyssey across America, involving missed flights, broken-down cars, and a string of misadventures that test Neal’s patience — and his perspective. As the two mismatched travelers navigate one obstacle after another, Neal discovers that sometimes the most frustrating detours lead to unexpected friendships. How far will they go to make it home for the holidays?
