Freedom 250: From Declaration to Innovation
May 1 - August 31, 2026
An immersive exhibition exploring the legacy of the United States’ Founding Fathers and the continuing force of their ideas in today’s world.
Freedom 250: From Declaration to Innovation is an immersive exhibition exploring the legacy of the United States’ Founding Fathers and the continuing force of their ideas in today’s world. Created in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of the United States Independence, it brings the origins of American governance into direct conversation with contemporary life and invention.
Rather than treating the founding era as a closed chapter, the exhibition presents it as a set of principles shaped over time, carried forward through moments of struggle, negotiation, and change. Ideas such as liberty, fairness, and civic responsibility are approached not as fixed truths, but as aspirations continually reinterpreted as society evolves. The distance between these ideals and lived reality remains a defining part of the American narrative.
At its heart stands a large-scale reproduction of the Declaration of Independence, accompanied by the lives of its signatories and the struggles through which its claims were defended. The document unfolds not only as an assertion of ideals but also as a profound human testament to courage and tenacity—shaped by the people who wagered their lives and futures on the fragile belief that these ideals could outlast them.

More About The Exhibit
Visitors are invited to take part, not just observe. Hands-on experiences, including a paint-by-numbers scene drawn from Valley Forge, a Betsy Ross puzzle station, the “Liberty, Thread by Thread” cross-stitch project, and immersive VR journeys, offer ways to engage with history through making and reflection.
From ink to innovation, this journey traces how bold ideas written by hand became engines of progress and possibility. In the Innovations Room, the legacy of America’s Founding Fathers meets the future - honoring Ukrainian‑American genius and the spirit of innovation that transcends generations.
By combining historical narrative with participatory design, Freedom 250 invites rumination and conversation. It presents history as something not only inherited, but actively shaped, leaving you with a question rather than a conclusion: what does it mean to claim these ideals today, and what are you prepared to do with them?
