“Empire Records” – American Film Nights at AHK

Join us for a screening taking place at America House Kyiv and participate in a discussion about individuality, rebellion, and the search for belonging, as well as the tension between conformity and self-expression in navigating youth and independence, in “Empire Records” (1995) from director Allan Moyle.

Explore the language of cinema, watch movies in their original language, and practice your English-speaking skills through friendly moderated discussions at American Film Nights with America House Kyiv. Join us Tuesdays at 18:30 at America House Kyiv.

“Empire Records” (1995)

"Empire Records" is directed by Allan Moyle and features an ensemble cast including Anthony LaPaglia, Renée Zellweger, Liv Tyler, and Ethan Embry. The film centers around the employees of Empire Records, a struggling independent record store in Delaware, as they navigate personal challenges and work together to prevent the store from being sold to a large chain called Music Town. The story unfolds over the course of one day, filled with comedic and dramatic moments as the characters confront their dreams, relationships, and the realities of adulthood.
