“Blade Runner” (1982)

In a dystopian future Los Angeles, Rick Deckard is a former police officer tasked with hunting down bioengineered beings known as replicants, who have illegally returned to Earth in search of longer lives. Designed to look and feel human, the replicants challenge the boundaries between artificial life and humanity. As Deckard tracks them through a dark, decaying city, he becomes increasingly entangled in questions of memory, identity, and empathy — especially through his relationship with Rachael, a replicant who believes she is human. The pursuit forces Deckard to confront what it truly means to be human and to reconsider the moral cost of his work.
