By 2020, the app market will be valued at $101 Billion. Over 80% of all these developers are male. The Technovation Challenge aims to change that by empowering teen girls worldwide to solve serious problems in their communities using technology. 
From rural Moldova to urban Brazil, from India to Nigeria and the US, CODEGIRL follows teams from around the world who dream of holding their own in the world’s fastest-growing industry. The winning team gets $10,000 to complete and release their app on the market, but every team discovers something valuable along the way...

CODEGIRL’s director, Lesley Chilcott, an award-winning filmmaker (producer of "An Inconvenient Truth" and "It Might Get Loud") said: “The Technovation Challenge was one of the coolest ideas I’d ever heard.”
