America House youth Leadership Program

America House Kyiv is accepting applications for the America House Youth Leadership Program. If you are a motivated university student, you are welcome to apply for this professional development program. This is a unique opportunity for you to realize your potential and embark on your career path.

Why participate?

You will gain knowledge, practical skills, and leadership experience to kickstart your careers. You will receive mentorship from the America House team to develop your own projects and join a network of active citizens.

We offer you a unique opportunity to:

  • Provide input on current issues of importance to Ukrainian youth;

  • Participate in programs that promote civil society;

  • Receive personal and professional development training and mentorship;

  • Create and implement projects to build your CV;

  • Learn more about international exchange and educational programs offered by the US government;  

  • Improve your English;

  • Receive a certificate of achievement from America House Kyiv and a personalized letter of reference.

You as an ideal candidate must:  

  • Have intermediate level of English and fluent in Ukrainian;

  • Be a university student and resident of Ukraine (applicants must reside in Kyiv);

  • Demonstrate strong leadership qualities and potential;

  • Have strong intercultural and communications skills;

  • Demonstrate commitment to community and extracurricular activities;  

  • Be mature, responsible, independent, confident, open-minded, tolerant, thoughtful, and inquisitive;  

  • Commit to attend all the obligatory meetings and professional development workshops that are part of the program;

    There are 2 tracks of the program:


Duration of the program: October 1, 2019 - July 4, 2020 

Minimum hours — 5 hours per week 

You will gain experience in:  

  • Event design, implementation, and management; 

  • Customer service; 

  • Written communications and reporting; 

  • Strategic partnership.


Duration of the program: October 1, 2019 - March 1, 2020 

Minimum hours — 10 hours per week 

 You will gain experience in:  

  • Working with all America House Kyiv equipment;  

  • Assisting patrons with Makerspace projects; 

  • Using technical equipment and software in the Makerspace; 

  • Modelling, prototyping and designing; 

  • Event tech support and tech setup maintenance.
