American Studies Club: Why (Some) Nations Don’t Fail

Interested in learning more about U.S. governing institutions and the ideas and debates that shaped them? America House is pleased to host this week’s session of the U.S. Embassy’s American Studies Club. Students and faculty of universities in Kyiv in any department are invited to attend. This week, Ewan MacDougall, a Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy, will discuss “Why (Some) Nations Don’t Fail: Political Institutions in Mixed Constitutions.”

Ewan MacDougall is a special assistant at the United States Embassy in Kyiv. He arrived in Ukraine in July 2017 after prior tours in Oslo, Norway and Beijing, China. Ewan previously worked on Iraq policy in Washington and served from 2003-2008 as an infantry officer in the United States Marine Corps. Ewan is originally from New York City and holds a bachelor degree from Yale and master degree from Harvard.

This is a bonus session of American Studies program.
