Join us for the chat with America House guest Mike Baird. Here is some interesting information about Mike:
Hi, I’m Mike. I’m currently working as an Air Attaché at the US Embassy here in Kyiv. I’ve spent the last 14 years or so as an Air Force officer and pilot serving in a variety of places around the world. My father was also in the US Air Force, therefore in my 36 years I have not lived in any one place longer than 4 years at a time. As a result of military service I’ve had the opportunity to travel quite a bit, to include being stationed in northern Japan and two years of study in Ukraine at the Ukrainian Catholic University of Lviv. I have bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, as well as a master’s in International Relations, and am currently continuing to work on my Ukrainian language skills. In my free time I like to read, go to the gym, and spend time with friends. If I had more time I would love to travel more, play more soccer, hike, surf, snowboard, and do more rock-climbing.

The workshop is aimed at providing University faculty staff who teach English Language courses or courses in English with a unique opportunity to hone practical skills for ELT with a special emphasis on developing writing skills.
Mike will talk about the Rules of Evidence and Criminal Procedure and how they impact criminal cases and the rule of law in America. Whether you’re connected to Ukrainian law enforcement, the judicial system, or are simply a fan of American crime shows, please join us!
