Global Barriers to Women’s Leadership and How to Overcome Them. Workshop by Running Start's founder Susannah Wellford.
Over the past 16 years, Susannah Wellford has founded two organizations designed to raise the political voice of young women in America.
In spring 2007, Ms. Wellford founded Running Start to inspire young women and girls to political leadership. Running Start furthers the work begun by the Women Under Forty Political Action Committee (WUFPAC), which Susannah cofounded in 1999 and led for the first five years. WUFPAC is a national women’s group dedicated to electing young women to political office. A nonpartisan organization, WUFPAC is the only political action committee in the United States devoted to helping young women of all parties run for elected office.
The discussion will include:
- What are the biggest obstacles for women in leadership in Ukraine, and how do they compare to what US women face?
- What are tricks that women can use to overcome these barriers?
- What lessons can be learned by looking at women’s success and failure globally?
Remember to bring your passport or driver's license.

This week in WE@AH we’ll take a closer look at the origins of, reasons for, and controversies about Black History Month. Our discussion will also touch on some of the significant cultural contributions made by trailblazing African-Americans.
In this session we will break down the test structure for the listening section, and practice some strategies for sailing smoothly through it.
The workshop is aimed at providing University faculty staff who teach English Language courses or courses in English with a unique opportunity to hone practical skills for ELT with a special emphasis on developing writing skills.
Mike will talk about the Rules of Evidence and Criminal Procedure and how they impact criminal cases and the rule of law in America. Whether you’re connected to Ukrainian law enforcement, the judicial system, or are simply a fan of American crime shows, please join us!
