But what does it take to make it as an effective ESL teacher in New York? And how can you best prepare your students (Ss) for success using a New York approach?
In this four-part workshop we will explore some of the methodologies, strategies, and activities used by teachers at the City University of New York (CUNY) in the intensive CUNY Language Immersion Program (CLIP). We will work from an interactive four-skill approach—reading, writing, speaking, and listening—with a Content-Based curriculum in an Experiential Learning methodology. The essential take-aways from these workshops can be adapted to meet students’ needs in any context. Participants who attend all four sessions will receive a Certificate of Completion for “New York ESL Teaching Practices”.
