Teachers training: Photography in ELT: Engage, Inspire, Create, Learn

Get your students thinking beyond the selfie and using their phone cameras as interactive and fun language learning devices. This workshop will introduce and demonstrate photography-based activities and lessons for building skills in vocabulary, oral expression, creative writing, community engagement, and self-expression, and will include modifications for all-levels of English and for all-levels of photographers.
About trainer
Crystal Bock Thiessen graduated with Bachelor's degrees in both Photography and Spanish, and received her Master’s in TESL from the University of Central Missouri, USA where she eventually worked with the IEP for a year and a half. She taught EFL in Sapporo, Japan for three years and in Lugansk, Ukraine for one, and especially enjoys American Culture and technology for language learning as professional interests. Currently, she is an ESL instructor at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. Besides teaching, she is a professional photographer specializing in weddings and travel photography and, combined with her love of travel, has photographed and visited 36 countries and 25 U.S. states.
